Iowa Idol Finalists Announced

DES MOINES, IA – August 5, 2004 – The crescendo is building for the third annual Iowa Idol competition! The finalists will compete on August 12^th at 4:15 p.m. on the Bill Riley stage at the Iowa State Fair.

Six finalists and two alternates were chosen from over 120 contestants at two competitions. The finalists are: Jessica Allen of Des Moines, Jennifer Marquardt of Altoona, Abe Holmes of Cedar Rapids, Jamee Pickens of Panora, Jeremy Jorgenson of Altoona, and Tiffany Bryson of Urbandale. First alternate is Ayita Woods of Ames and second alternate is Cole Taggart of Waukee.

This year’s event is proudly sponsored by Community Choice Credit Union, KDSM FOX 17, KISS 107FM, MIX100, and Valley West Mall. The winner is guaranteed a tryout for American Idol in Las Vegas on September 12, 2004 and will receive a plane ticket to the tryout. In addition, the winner will receive two tickets to Clay Aiken’s concert as well as a VIP meet-and-greet before his show. A demo recording from Radio Garage Productions will be awarded to the runner-up.
