Iowa Idol Competition Announced

DES MOINES, IA – July 2, 2004 – The third annual Iowa Idol competition takes summer up an octave with one lucky winner to receive the opportunity of a lifetime: the chance to try out for the wildly successful American Idol competition.

This year’s event is proudly sponsored by Community Choice Credit Union, KDSM FOX 17, KISS 107FM, MIX100, and Valley West Mall. The first 150 eligible contestants will compete July 31^st at Valley West Mall, where five finalists will be chosen to compete on August 12^th at the Iowa State Fair. The winner will receive a plane ticket to the American Idol tryouts in Las Vegas and two tickets to Clay Aiken’s concert as well as a VIP meet-and-greet before his show. A demo recording from Radio Garage Productions will be awarded to the runner-up!

Those not chosen as finalists will have a second chance to compete in Community Choice Credit Union’s Iowa Idol. One additional finalist will be chosen at a competition at Keyster’s Live Music in Urbandale on August 6^th!
